The British & Irish Lions have beaten the All Blacks for the first time in 24 years after Owen Farrell kicked a 78th-minute penalty to give Warren Gatland's side a 24-21 win in Wellington.

Warren Gatland's men took their opportunities and made the most of a numerical advantage after Sonny Bill Williams became the first All Black to be sent off in 50 years following a wreckless no arms tackle to the head of Anthony Watson.

The Lions' 24-21 victory consigned New Zealand to a first defeat on home soil since 2009, ending a 46-match unbeaten run, while the All Blacks have not lost successive Tests for six years.
